Simonsen Tel: (212) 673-4103 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEW YORK (31 March 1982, SPI) -- SPI announced today that they had reached an agreement with TSR Hobbies, Inc., whereby TSR has initiated a legal and economic chain of events to purchase SPI. As part of the agreement, TSR will undertake the distribution of SPI products in the United States and Canada. Kevin B. Blume, TSR's Chief Operating Officer, has assumed Presidency of SPI. "We believe that SPI has a potentially strong line of products which, when efficiently marketed and distributed, will be very profitable", stated Blume. Out-going President Christopher Wagner stated, "This deal will work, because the capabilities of the two companies are highly complementary. SPI can make products and TSR can sell them." Wagner is leaving after a year and a half to resume his consulting business. Executive Vice President Redmond A.
